On 15 October, Nasdaq Stockholm-listed supplier Hacksaw launched its B2B prediction markets platform. Operators plug into its technology infrastructure and distribution network through one platform integration and run the vertical under their own brand — no build from scratch. The same day, the Malta Gaming Authority extended the company's B2B Critical Gaming Supply licence from Type 1 to Type 3. The new class covers peer-to-peer play: the platform carries no gaming risk and earns a commission on volume.
The licence framing is the detail worth flagging. Malta's public register has no separate prediction-markets category — the approval came through the existing Type 3 rules, which under Malta's classification cover player-versus-player formats and exchange-style pooling. In other words, the regulator opened no new door for the category; it applied an old framework to a new scene. For operators eyeing the vertical, that is a ready-made compliance path: the licence is in place, and what remains is platform integration and commercial terms.
Back to platform selection. Prediction markets are scaling fast, and building a matching-and-settlement base from scratch means a build timeline counted in months, plus compliance negotiated market by market. Hacksaw's route turns the vertical into a pluggable module on the platform — technology and commercial infrastructure are already there, and operators simply connect. When comparing platforms, whether the new category ships as a ready module belongs on the checklist: who offers plug-and-play and who waits for in-house builds is exactly the difference in time to market. As for who signs on first, Hacksaw reports interim numbers on 3 November — that is when we find out.
