On 15 October, sportsbook supplier OpenBet announced that Loterie Romande, the exclusive sports betting operator for Switzerland's six French-speaking cantons, has migrated its JouezSport sportsbook onto the OpenBet platform. The scope is wide: online, self-service terminals and 2,350 retail points of sale, all cut over together. The stack previously ran on FDJ Gaming Solutions technology and now sits on OpenBet's base. Switzerland is a famously strict market, so a switch this size is no small thing — licensing, compliance and multilingual support all have to stay unbroken.
The retail piece is the part worth watching. Those 2,350 physical outlets are not decoration — they are a licensed operator's most valuable distribution channel, and one broken terminal is felt by players immediately. That is why Cash Out went live on digital channels on day one, with AI-enhanced odds and risk management rolling out alongside it, so the cutover does not break or drop orders. OpenBet also brought in its trading system and managed trading services together, pulling odds, risk and multi-vendor content onto one line and saving a pile of point-to-point integrations. The supplier has powered 20-plus licensed operators worldwide, and omnichannel migration is not its first time — that is why it can take on a job this size.
For anyone doing platform selection, this is an easy metric to miss: don't judge a platform by its online features alone. Operators with retail outlets or self-service terminals need to ask up front whether the platform covers omnichannel, and how the retail side transitions during migration — and who backstops trading and risk. This is the most underrated part of the platform build timeline: you can roll back online, but physical outlets cannot be reset with one click, and a day of downtime is real money. Put omnichannel migration on your selection checklist; it beats counting features.
