First-half 2026 market review

Half a year in, we sat down with three datasets: consultation logs, deal structure and the technical keywords clients use. The summary first — volume is up, the mix has shifted, and clients have gotten noticeably sharper.

Consultations: up about 60%

First-half consultations on platform builds ran roughly 60% above last year. The mix changed too. Last year half the inquiries came from technically minded founders holding requirement documents, asking how to build. This year operations-background teams dominate, and the questions became "how do we choose, how fast, how much". The rise in client maturity matters more than the rise in count.

Deal structure: standard packages near 70%

Standard packages, secondary development included, closed about 70% of signed projects — up more than ten points from last year. The reasons are not mysterious: budgets tightened, tolerance for "good enough" rose, and standard packages ship faster. Three forces stacking in the same direction.

Absolute demand for pure custom builds did not fall, but its share diluted. And the custom client's questions changed as well: last year it was "can you build it", this year "who owns it when it's done, and what happens in year three". Data ownership and migration cost have become standing items on the negotiation table — phrases that barely existed in conversations two years ago.

Technical keywords: two of the top three replaced

A rough ranking of technical keywords in consultations puts these three on top: high-availability architecture, API integration efficiency, multilingual platforms. Compare last year's top three — interface customization, page speed, content management — and the shift says a lot: attention moved from how the platform looks to how it runs. The architecture side of that is covered in the high-availability topic, the interface side in the API integration guide.

Multilingual went from bonus to default

The share of consultations asking for multilingual, multi-currency support reached about 80% this year. Last year it was a bonus feature — "add it if the budget allows". This year it is a pre-checked box on the inquiry form. The cost and architecture implications are expanded in the multilingual practice.

The quiet change: delivery timelines

Demand rose 60%; delivery capacity did not. The result is a 20-30% lengthening of standard delivery windows. If you plan to start in the second half, put that variable into your schedule — and note that the data preparation and content staging described in the timeline breakdown can be done in parallel, saving real waiting time.

Three calls for the second half

  1. The standard-package share keeps rising, but the hybrid form — standard core plus deep secondary development — becomes the mainstream. The pure either-or choice fades.
  2. High availability and capacity planning move from technical appendix to commercial agenda — clients now ask about redundancy at the quoting stage, a conversation that used to wait for implementation.
  3. Sensitivity to migration cost keeps climbing, and providers who put exit costs on the table early will command a premium.

These calls rest on a half-year sample with limits — treat them as reference. For a finer-grained view of the demand side, continue to the note on changing client demands. Everything else is back at the news section.
